"We planned our excursions after perusing some of the local magazines left for us on the coffee table and tips from Rene. We loved downtown Durango and enjoyed live acoustic music at the historic Strater Hotel and a live band at Balcony Bar & Grill, enjoyed shopping seeking out many local artists and stopping in several restaurants and pubs for refreshment along the way. We took a day trip to Mesa Verde to explore the Puebloan ruins and history, we were in awe at the treacherously placed cliff dwellings and in awe of the beauty and ancient history preserved there. And, we also attempted to drive the Million Dollar Highway turning back only when the October snow began to fall heavily, I wish I could post photos of how intensely serene and magnificent the landscape was!" "I have stayed in many rentals during my travels, and it is rare to find a host like Rene. Most of the time, VRBO/AIRBNB hosts provide information about the cabin and tell you where the key is, but this is not the case. She was at the cabin with her daughter when I arrived, and spent over 30 minutes with us, listened to my plans for this trip, and provided insight. We also got her personal number and told me to reach out with any issues. The kitchen was stocked to an extreme, with absolutely everything one would need to cook gourmet meals... Trader Joe's spices, and, just about every kitchen appliance a home would carry. In the bathroom, she had q- tips, razors, nail polish remover, etc., etc. She had thought of everything her guests would need, and the little details truly made this an incredible experience." She even had emergency feminine products which is always a plus. This woman has a grease jar! I have stayed at many Airbnb’s, and this is the first time we’ve ever been given one!
